We are approaching 100 years in business and it all started back in 1921 on Central Ave in Albany when James A. McCarroll Sr. followed his passion and started McCarrolls The Village Butcher, serving the surrounding communities with delicious meats and groceries. Since those early days both the business and family have grown and proudly continue the family tradition of providing quality and service.

James A. McCarroll Junior followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the family business after serving in the US military. Previously having several locations in Albany, they opened the family’s business in Delmar. James A. III started to cut meat at a very early age, sitting on a stool at the block with a butter knife!

Located in the Delmar Marketplace at 406 Kenwood Ave is truly a family business, joined by his wife Christine, daughter Lauren, son James A. McCarroll IV and now the 5th generation 2 granddaughters! They keep the long-standing tradition of the Village Butcher, Inc. going. McCarrolls is known as a fixture in the community and a center piece in the town of Bethlehem.

Over the last century a lot has changed in the world, but our commitment to serve the community and supply a pleasant shopping experience continues. We offer delicious meats cut by our Master butchers, Boars Head products, award winning Breakfast Sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, fresh homemade salads, Ready-to-go meals and baked goods and we cater all types of events and gatherings. We are truly the Village Butcher Shop and so much more. We look forward to serving our loyal customers for many years to come.
